EA Sports Boss: MVP Baseball Could Return Someday

The prospect of a new baseball game on PC specifically would be the best way to "get rebooted". Develop a couple of stadiums, realistic gameplay mechanics, and release a bunch of mod tools. Better yet, produce everything with a third-party game engine that the world has access to (Unreal, CryEngine, etc.). Think a more realistic Super Mega Baseball.

I feel like EA has said similar things in the past about getting back into baseball, so I wouldn't get my hopes up yet.

EA has to keep saying it, or MLB will never consider giving out more third-party licenses. If nobody shows interest, why risk tarnishing your brand?

I enjoyed the hell out of NBA Live until 2009. Not so much since the 2013 reboot. That was just a 4 year gap. I imagine EA Baseball wouldnt be any better than RBI is now. And thats a 13-15 year gap for EA Baseball.

I don’t think they would have to do much. I think if they released the last version of MVP baseball with updated rosters and modern graphics it would sell through the roof. There were things MVP did well that the show struggles with today.

Colors showing during pitches? No. Not sim like. If you have MVP 05, I put together a Sim package over at mvpmods.com. More rewarding when you crush a ball when you take a batter's strategy into your AB.
