Onyx Amare?

Just wondering if anybody has tried out the onyx Amare. I really like him as a player, and I definitely favor the more athletic 4's in my lineup. His 90 midrange and 95 dunk look very good. But I (obviously) have hesitations about dropping 30k on a player with 2 badges.

I was also looking at the ruby scoring KG that comes with 25 badges; I could score him for about 20k. Just curious to see if anybody has tried either of them, or have a recommendation for a good gem 4. I only really know prices/stats of non gem players.

Ruby KG is an animal. Rebounds great, defends well and he has the mid range down. His post fade and dunking abilities are great too. Really solid PF for 20k.

Haven't tried Amar'e but I've wanted to. But the lack of badges has kept me away also.

If you really like him as a player, just get him! Of course he is not as good as KG , but he can do everything you want from your PF, dunking, rebounding, shooting, post fade, it's all there. You can upgrade him with 3 more badges and with additional TT gold badge he is real awesome in getting rebounds. I often use him as backup for Onyx Dirk and he has never disappointed me. I also had KG but sold him with a big profit.

I agree with Abtrusso. If you're a big fan, get Amare. I will say that 2K totally screwed up his speed and athleticism. He should be much faster/quicker, and because of this he doesn't get posterizing dunks. However, he can catch lobs all day and the mid range is automatic. I'm not a big fan of ruby KG… slow release, poor stamina. I would recommend Onyx Larry Nance as a athletic 4. He's plays like real life Amare/Shawn Kemp

I was also going to suggest Onyx Lance if you're looking for an athletic PF. Amar'e is really expensive for what he is. I'd only get him if you're a fan or need him for a theme line-up -- he backs up Dirk in my all Mavs lineup.

Dope lineups, I was gonna do a All-time suns theme with Nash, J Rich, Barbosa, Marion, and Amar'e but I held back once I heard J Kidd was coming out.

Once he does, Ima get an all-time nets squad going
