General Economy tips

I'm newish to MyTeam and I'm a little confused by the economy.

I guess my main question is why do any of the bronze and silver players have any value? There are seemingly no sets to complete and seemingly no lineup restrictions so I don't see why anyone would buy random players. I bought 20 packs (got Steph AND Bron) and most of the stuff sold I just don't get why anyone wants it. Is it only for the collector level stuff? I don't imagine you can profit much on that going 1k per card.

Also, why are some random bronzes 2-5k? Does anyone actually pay this? Again, it seems like there is no motivation to have any specific crappy players.

There actually are sets to complete (If you push square on the team it'll show you the reward). That's the main reason these bronzes go for so much, especially the teams with good rewards (Magic, Thunder, Nets).
