I've played over 500 games of mto and never had the box score be wrong referring to biggest lead

This is probably the most B.S game I've ever played and probably my last 2k17 game that I will be playing on MTO...

Was this the equalizer that just happend? I didnt believe in equalizer but now I do....

He had ruby Gasol and Webber by the way..

Re: 19 offensive rebounds and 23 second pt chances.... Im done

My team is half Diamonds and I played an all Sapphire/Emerald squad earlier today. My team, which is built on defense, looked like a JV middle school squad on that side of the ball. Failing to recognize any offensive threat, leaving guys I had the settings on to stay tight with and generally ignoring every rebound and loose ball. You would've thought David Robinson was Jahlil Okafor on defense. I gave up I think 40 points in the first half, when sometimes I don't allow that in a game. And it's not like the guy I was playing was good. There was just something a little extra working against me. He played zone on defense so I murdered him from 3 and won by 20, but the first half was close and it shouldn't have been. I definitely believe in the equalizer, but I've learned to live with it and power through.

Equalizer, how? He had fewer TOs, shot more FTs, better fg% & 3pt% and had 3x more steals. He loss the rebound battle but he was giving up 3" & 2" at C & PF. Height is a huge factor when it comes to rebounding.

Gasol 84 off reb 88 boxout 7'1" vs Alonzo 96 def reb 96 boxout 6'10

Webber 86 off reb 88 boxout 6'9" vs Green 94 def reb 90 boxout 6'7"

This one screen cap isn't too bad.

Equalizer or whatever it is doesn't just affect rebounding. There should be some evidence in free throws, fg%, steals, and even opponent turnovers. It looks like you played a clean game and beat your opponent in every statistical category other than rebounding.

I mean it could be Equalizer but it could just be an unlucky game.

People confuse momentum swing win equalizer. If equalizer exists, it'd affect EVERY game everyone plays against an inferior team, not just the games you lost. I've played many games against significantly worse teams and they hit shots they're supposed to and missed shot they're supposed to. I'm sure i'm not the only one. How do you explain that?

Yeah, though this just emphasized the ridiculous over importance the game attributed to height in basketball. According to NBA 2K17, guys like Barkley never existed.

How could I tell it's momentum and not equalizer?

I believed in the equalizer myth from reading this forum before started playing MTO. Then I had a game many weeks where I started the game sluggish - missing free throws, missing layups, dunks, defenders not responding, the other guy beating me to every single rebound, basically everything people described as equalizer effect. He was beating me by 29 by half time. Then second half came, I started off with getting a couple steals and easy baskets to cut into the lead. Then all of a sudden the other guy got cold and missed a lot of the shots he made before. My guys finally remember to box out and rebound, and actually play much more crisp defense. I end up coming back, but lost by 3. This may be an extreme scenario, but the momentum engine is incredibly powerful in this game, and if you're playing against the momentum, all sorts of weird things start to happen.

One thing I don't hear talked about much around here is player's rating being dynamic during the game. For example your player is hot, his FT rating gets boosted. I noticed this bump to other key stats as well. So if your players gets cold and the other team gets hot, the dynamic ratings could be significant enough to cause odd behaviors people dub as equalizer.
