Sadly no way possible. 2k would need to ADD them to the Free Agent pool.

After watching several CPU v CPU games with many of the retro teams, it's clear these teams are going to need top to bottom makeovers. If you have ever followed either VTCRB or my work, you know we can be a bit OCD about getting the gameplay as authentic as possible. This roster is NOT about simply adding missing players. Each player will be edited and tweaked to maximize realism.

We are still working on the team list, and making some hard decisions about teams to include and exclude for this version. It's looking like we will gut some teams to use players for other teams, but we will explain all that when we announce the teams. In the meantime, we are busy making CAPs and testing gameplay.

Any chance for the 87-88 Mavs? Took the Lakers to 7 games and Aguirre was a beast with over 25 ppg.
