JB's 2K21 (PS4) & (PS5) Fictional Draft Classes

Think as a cool little side project I'm going to download SkillazKill College Hoops roster and import some of your DC1 players onto their college teams. Run a short college season and see how that turns out. Might be kind of fun.

Ok. This is kinda amazing. Since I'm using Jeffruel's DC's for my ps4 MyLeague, I may do this as a prelude to create storylines if I do get that next gen version. That's if I get that ps5 before 2k22 haha.

I'd never turn down more quality classes. Would be willing to put together scouting reports if you have any info for the players.

DC7 is uploaded--not doing a scouting report but if you have any questions about any of the players let me know.

I will mention that there are some busts near the top of the draft, but also some stars.

I'll have DC8 ready in a few weeks.

Okay, it's been almost 9 full seasons since draft class 1, and it's time for a quick review. I'm on PS4, so I only have DC1-4 to work with, but they have been great classes. I love seeing guys like Phoenix Jones carving out careers in the league as rotation players. JB and Jeffruel, you guys have given life to my league. I can't imagine playing this game without your draft classes, and 2K owes you. My appreciation for your efforts is tremendous.

As a thank you, here's a quick update on a few players. Call it the First Team ALL-JB, 9 seasons removed from the DC1 draft.


Center

Man, this one was tough, because there is no single standout star. I'm giving it to Zavier Carter, who narrowly beats out his two draft-class-mates (Anderson & Songaila) as well as Ojeleye. Compared with Tim Duncan in his scouting, he of course was drafted by the Spurs with the 5th pick in 2024. He has spent his whole career with them thus far, with 1 finals appearance. Other highlights include:

*2x All-Star
*Rookie of the Year

He is averaging 22/11/4 this year and has become an anchor for a championship-level team. He's not the best center in the league, but he's the best from JB's first four classes.

Forward

Amari Swift is an easy choice. Drafted first overall by Houston, he led that team for four seasons before moving to Dallas in Free Agency, where he is 32/8/6 and making a strong case for MVP. Amari is a

*2x 2nd team All-NBA
*Rookie of the year

The best is yet to come for him and he's poised to be one of the best players from the JB drafts. He is not currently the best overall, and not the best forward. That honor belongs to...

Forward

Jacoby Cleeves. Drafted 4th overall by Charlotte, in his 8th season he is arguably the best player in the league. He has taken Charlotte to 2 straight NBA Championships, winning Finals MVP twice. He is absolutely lethal, averaging 27/7/7 for his career. In addition, his awards include

*2 MVPs (!!), dethroning Giannis for back-to-back awards
*5x All-Star selections
*5x 1st team All-NBA
*1x 3rd team All-NBA
*Rookie of the Year

He is in the conversation for the best player from JB's classes, but he is not my first choice.

Guard

The most famous player from the inaugural class, Jaylen Justice has had an amazing career thus far.

*3x NBA Champion and 3x Finals MVP
*6x NBA All-Star
*1x 1st team All-NBA
*1x 2nd team All-NBA
*1x 3rd team All-NBA

Drafted 3rd overall by the Knicks, he has spent his entire career with them, averaging 21/5/6 as the second best player from that class.

Guard

Drum roll please....

For his career, he is 26/6/9, with 2.2 steals per game. Drafted 4th overall, one pick after Jaylen Justice, he has spent his whole career with Detroit, making the playoffs all but one season....and running into the Knicks in the conference finals 3 times (losing all 3). He is the ultimate 2-way player, and his accolades include:

*7x All-Star selections
*5x 1st team All-NBA
*1x 3rd team All-NBA
*1x Defensive Player of the Year
*3x 1st team All-Defense
*2x 2nd team All-Defense
*Rookie of the Year

He is the one, the only, Dwayne Qualls, and while he hasn't seen the finals yet, he is, in my opinion, the best player, hands down, to come out of the JB factory.
