What factors go into IQ? It always confuses me how Jokic is only an A for it, while most superstars (and some high end role players like Mikal Bridges) are A+.

Is it supposed defensive shortcomings that hold him back?

Help Defense is an IQ rating, just like Shot IQ and Pass IQ. I don't really pay attention to those attribute grades.

i wonder when the next ratings update be i dont know if i want to wait for it or just start franchise now

Probably March 9th. Due to the All-Star break there has only been 1 week's worth of games.

That depends entirely on what you're looking for with your experience.

There are no more major moves coming from now until the end of the season, nor is there likely to be much major player movement from now until the end of the season. If you care about big picture stuff, it's safe to start.

If you care about which contenders sign Goran Dragic and Nerlens Noel to be their 12th man, wait.

i could be wrong but isnt march 1 the cut off date to add players to teams. also is it true the rosters get updated daily and the ratings is what comes monthly

March 1 is the deadline for a player to be waived & remain playoff eligible. A player can be signed the last day of the regular season (fairly common), but they aren't playoff eligible unless they were free (i.e. eliminated teams can't just release their guys for the playoffs at the end of the year).

The roster is auto-updated every day (That's what the "Update Required" pop-up is about if you've played in the morning). This is primarily for transactions and injuries, though they can also sneak Tendencies, Playbooks, or whatever else (they rarely/never communicate this).

Ratings are generally updated bi-weekly. With 60 games of data in the books, the overwhelming majority of movement is minor. Only 3 players went up/down 3 or more points in the last update.
