SO MUCH MAGIC AT THE ALL STAR GAME
FEBRUARY 1992

Kostas Balidis and Magic Johnson were going against each other, but not in practice this time.

Magic Johnson was on fire and just being a madman on the court, it was amazing to see” said Michael Jordan watching on the first row. The Chicago Bulls, did not have any All Star selections this year, which didn’t faze MJ. “It is a good time for other players to get shine, everyone deserves to be recognized this year. A total of three new players were able to check off being an All Star off their list, with Drazen Petrovic, Kostas Balidis and Hershey Hawkins being granted an opportunity. “Its amazing to see other players get an opportunity to show case themselves here on All Star Sunday. Its important for the game as well” said Scottie Pippen, that sat a few seats next to Michael Jordan.

Charles Barkley was also apart of the All Star festivities as well, seeing the fun that Magic and Bird were having. “We know we don’t have long to go with them still being able to get selected in this game, so you have to enjoy it.” Larry Bird and Magic said after last year that they prefer to play against each other if they were both selected in the All Star Weekend.

“Larry and I are competitors, we thrive off of trying to kick each others butts” said Magic during the end of last year season. Magic Johnson ended the game with 14 points and six assists, while his Los Angeles Lakers teammate had 16 points and passed six assists himself.

BULLS LOOK TO REPEAT, HEAT LOOK TO THE FUTURE
MARCH 1992

Coby Wilkins, GM of the Chicago Bulls says that they are looking forward to the playoffs. “Our goal is to repeat as Champions, the celebrations in Grant Park should be a yearly thing for the residents of Chicago” he stated in an interview. With the Bulls not harboring any All Stars, it gave a few oif them some time to think and rest. “The All Star break isn’t really a break for some. MJ and Pippen can relax a little bit now. Not only can they relax physically, but mentally as well” Williams added.

“Our goals this year aren’t individual at all, its to win the whole thing as a team again” said Scottie Pippen. “I thank those voting because you helped us rest, it was great to not have to run down the floor again for a game that wont add to the win column. Saves us from wear and tear! ”he added laughing. The Bulls are seeing players like Stacey King and BJ Armstrong grow within their roles within the team. “BJ is going to be a multiple time All Star. I hope you all are ready for it. He has worked hard to even be a future MVP” Michael Jordan said

The Miami Heat, are on the opposite side of the Eastern Conference, with investing time into helping their youth. “Right now, we aren’t a very good team. That’s okay though, lots to work on and improve on”said Rony Seikaly. Steve Smith said that there are lots of positives that can be used in seasons like this. “We will have a top priority for a great athlete to come to the team next year. When things go bad, you start to see how people are, can they handle it? It’s a character building situation “ he stated after another loss to the Hornets. They have only won six games out of 57.

Lets see what happens...

Re: How’s your franchise going? NBA 2K24 thread

The trade deadline has commenced, and the all star break is here. Here are some of the impactful moves that were made from some of the teams. There was a lot of trade activity going on as teams are looking to stockpile picks in the hopes of landing a generational prospect in the deep 2025 NBA draft class.

The biggest trade belonged to Kevin Durant going to the Nuggets to pair up with Jokic for and MPJ, Aaron Gordon. KD was upset with the Sun's roster construction, and the team has completely fallen apart after their surprise run the previous year. Now with Bradley Beal and KD gone, the Suns will look to build around Devin Booker once again, and hope that he remains loyal and doesn't leave.

The Nuggets made this trade because they were really struggling and with Jamal Murray's impending free agency looming, they needed insurance. He has his sights set on Toronto, so this trade at least gives them a solid chance (and maybe even the favorite) to make a run at the championship. This duo sounds like it'll be an all time great one, but we'll see how they play when the games really matter.

Re: How’s your franchise going? NBA 2K24 thread

The Wizards are one of the worst teams in the league with only 8 wins to their name up to this point, and they also owe their unprotected draft pick to the Rockets for incentivizing them on taking on the albatross of a contract which was the John Wall deal. They have been trying to find a buyer for Kyle Kuzma, but nobody seemed to want to budge.. but boom, the Pelicans lose Brandon Ingram for the season and an opportunity arises.

The Pelicans are in the thick of things, and with the sudden injury woes that have been placed in front of them (Zion is out for 8-10 weeks), they figured now was the chance to trade for Kuzma to replace BI. So now Brandon Ingram is slated for free agency and will have a few suitors ready to give him another payday.

PISTONS V KNICKS: CLASSIC PLAYOFFS!
APRIL 1992

The Detroit Pistons, are still letting people know, they can still compete for the NBA Championship.

“We aren’t going down without a fight. I don’t know why people think we are done. We are champions, and have been in the Finals more times than they have seen in decades” said Isiah Thomas after the buzzer Beater in Game 4 at Madison Square. The Pistons went down against the Bulls last year and are preparing themselves to play them this year again. “They have a team now, they have a title so its time for them to get tested the proper way” said Bill Laimbeer.

Knicks and Pistons are no strangers of each other. They previously played against each other last year, with the Pistons prevailing to go against the Bulls. “Its not happening this year, though” said Patrick Ewing. “We are more experienced now, have a little bit of understanding on how they play. It will be a dogfight for sure, they need to be ready for vacation”.

One of the players in attendance was Lenny Jennings of St Josephs University, a player that is leveraging his Europeans offers. “I want to be in the NBA, but the opportunities are amazing. Not too sure if I will be going into the NBA Draft this year” he stated

Re: How’s your franchise going? NBA 2K24 thread

I started a save as the Spurs in 1983-84 and the Rockets already put together a super-team. They drafted Jordan at #2, traded Sampson for #3 and took Barkley. They somehow got the #1 pick in 1985 and took Karl Malone. I have Stockton, Mullin, and Rodman but there’s no way I’m beating them anytime soon.

BULLS MAKE IT A DOUBLE: WIN 1992 NBA FINALS OVER LAKERS
JUNE 1992

The Chicago Bulls are Champions once again. Lakers hint at a change

Magic Johnson and the Lakers have lost another title chase, this time to a Jordan-less Bulls. “When we found out the MJ wasn’t going to be able to play, we did feel confident. We still feel like we have the better players on our team still, the Bulls were just hungrier than us” Johnson said. Scottie Pippen and Toni Kukoc led the Bulls to the win, as MJ was out with a severe ankle injury that will require surgery. “Michael trusted us that we will get it done so we made sure to get #2 for him” Pippen stated in the locker room

Kostas Balidis of the Lakers had a double double of 15 points and 11 assists, keeping them in the game. “I did the best I could, we just didn’t have enough to win tonight. Good win and series by Chicago Bulls”. Balidis had an amazing year, as being selected to the NBA All Star Game and having a big game. “Bulls are a great team. You think they were done was Mike was done for the playoffs and then Toni Kukoc comes in. They are true champions” said Magic Johnson at the end of the presser.

The Lakers GM has stated that this summer will be a lot of changes to the squad. “We arent as athletic as we used to be. I love how the Bulls went and got a bit younger through the draft every year, we need to keep things going with our ballclub. Players are getting older, and we need to ontinue to be able to compete at a high level. The Phoenix Suns of the world and Portland TrailBlazers arent going anywhere”
