The game allows me to use my basketball knowledge at times and it's very rewarding.
Yeah and also for picks to work, get on active dribbling, move on to the other side of the screen , fake it and come back to it, etc etc, tricks like in real basketball so the defender can be caught on the screen. By the way defenders will go under on some screens so it's just like in real life

I haven't checked this year, but was able to for PS5 2k24 & 2k23 for sure. I play offline MyNBA, so you may not be able to online or in different modes?

I went to do it on the last version of Madden I had (couple of years ago) and couldn't do it, so I'm sure certain games/modes don't allow it.

I might have mentioned this already. But man the change shot is really nice this year. With certain players you don't even notice the change in the shot. It just looks sexy. The animation blending is flawless. Check out this one.

Cpu passing on this game is horrible. Every single player can throw any pass from any angle on the dot.

Every player is a one man break. Grab the board full speed turbo dribble up the court to throw cross court passes.

I remember lowering pass accuracy in 24 hoping it would lead to more wild passes but all it seemed to affect was the catcher who would juggle the ball every now and then.

Re: NBA 2K25 Impressions Thread (XBOX Series X/S, PS5, PC)

so I started a new franchise with the pelicans, all star level and real percentage for the shots and it's indeed waaaaaaaay easier but I still managed to lose by 4 to the bulls But I have definitely reached my sweet spot and I really enjoy it !

The only thing is that the AI calls too many plays (and the same play) for Ingram but nothing for Zion..So now I have to dive into manual playcalling to see how it looks like (I have always used auto playcalling since the first 2K on Dreamcast) and see if it is manageable for me.

On another note, I still don't understand how on ball steals work, I have tried with the right stick and with X, but even if I am not spamming it, I only get fouls and no steals, any tips for me ?

The technology is not there for a 1:1 unless the whole project moves to first person VR and you'll need a custom half court in your house to play.

I'd disagree. If you take a look back at 2k17 for example this video

You can see how movement is clearly better. What makes 2k25 stand out, especially from other next gen titles, is dribbling, pro play and graphics. It's really awesome in those aspects, but movement, sliding/skating, suction and stealing mechanism is bad. And stuff like latter two are especially obvious in hall of fame and make it unplayable, at least for me. So all in all, I'd say it's the best game since 2k19 imo.

Dee from NLSC always does a good job of editing sliders to free the movement side of the game up

2K17 as it was is one of my least favorite games of the series because of how overly sticky the AI was….some of the most blatant warping ever. Maybe if I messed with the sliders a bit more then I’d appreciate it’s movement.

but everyone has their preference…This game reminds me more of 2K16 with the weight movement has. Think it’s at a great place.
