How do you dunk During a normal game

Im new to NBA 2k and i am just wondering how you dunk in a game. Im 5 games into my MYGM season and i think i have dunked once and have not seen the cpu dunk ever. Im holding the right trigger in on the Xbox one but i keep just doing lay ups. Is there something else i need to be doing or adjust a slidder.

Use your VC to buy more hops.
Or adjust the sliders.

Obviously build your dunk stats if it's MyPlayer, but I have found that if you hold right trigger and start from further out with the rt thumbstick you will dunk. I was starting too close and using the X button, which did layups. Make sure you have room and start your move to the hole earlier. They will do all the moves for you. If you have an open lane, your up should dunk.

If you dont increase dunk attempts and ability then there will be a lot of layups.

I just think this year they toned down dunks so that people don't dunk like they normally do. I think it's part of the amazing CPU cheese they put in place for next gen.

It should come to you in time, just got to get used to the gameplay and how it feels. I had the same issues when I first started playing '11. If your player is tired he won't really be able to dunk, or anything else that requires jumping such as rebounding, as his ratings will be dragged down by his fatigue.

Neither user or CPU dunk often from standing positions. I adjuster sliders and they dunk I off drives, but I've seen Davis and griffin lay up off dump off passes when they should be tearing the rim off

The posterizer, finisher and highlight skills greatly enhance your dunking abilities. Its like night and day. I dont want to insult anyone but also make sure of the following:

after you buy your dunks, you have to equip them. They are not automatically added to your man.
