Official MyPlayer Creation Advice Thread

I thought about making this thread for those of you who are starting a new my player. I recently created mine and spent some REAL MONEY to buy VC to help add onto my player. I made my guy similar to me in real life, a 6 ft 4 all around player but now with myplayer at level 97 he isn't really that effective at anything in particular. He's just ok in a lot of areas and since we can't get back the VC we spent I have to start over and create a new guy that is more effective. He's maxed out in most categories so I figured that he would effective in all categories but he is not.

I would def like to ask posters what advice they have as far as different positions and category combinations

the differences between = distributor/slasher/scorer/athletic/rebounding/all-around/3 point specialist/etc

obviously they have definitions for a reason but I believe each player has distinct control styles if you make each of them 99

I have a 3pt specialist pg that is 6'6" with an 86 overall and I am averaging 38 pts, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds a game in my rookie year and I haven't bought any vc

a " 3pt specialist " doing that is that not unrealistic?

An athletic PG is a good way to start out, if you like tp use PGs. You will.have decent speed and ball handling.

I'm a 90 OVR and I'm not even at the playoffs in my first year.

how much does the "athletic" option hurt your shooting ability when maxed out?
