Rio Grande Valley Vipers Playstyle

Hey guys,

Grantland had a great article describing the offensive play style of the high scoring Vipers of the D-League.

http://grantland.com/features/nba-dl...of-basketball/

If I wanted to emulate this style of spreading shooters out and constantly fast break, how could I go about this in 2K14?

Umm this is basically how most people on NBA 2k14 play apparently.

I actually really enjoyed that article. I appreciate the link, even if it was only so you could find a way to replicate that pace. Reading more about the D-League only reaffirms my feeling that it'd be a spectacular aspect to re-introduce to NBA 2K, with the ability to edit rosters as we saw fit (to get them accurate) and/or download them from 2K Share.

In the last MyPlayer I ran, I was drafted by the Houston Rockets. I would have thoroughly enjoyed trying to earn my stripes as a member of the RGV system in NBA 2K.

Sidenote, maybe my favorite part of the article:
Quote:
He did other things to get under opponents’ skin: Keystone employed a short, eight-man rotation, so sometimes Smith would have his players trap the ball at random times or switch to an uncommon defense, like a triangle-and-2, to force the opposing coach to call a timeout. “We would run the other team’s plays,” Smith says, laughing. “We would call it the other team. We would call ‘Cabrini’ or we would call ‘Immaculata.’ … I don’t think teams liked that very much.”
Something about running the other team's places and naming them the other team just struck me. Awesome stuff.

Great read, it was pretty interesting to read all of that stuff.

I'm not exactly sure how to implement in 2k. Have you tried messing with tendencies and see if it affects where players spread out to?

In the half court set quick option when you click left on the D-Pad try setting it to 4 out 1 in. Is that what you mean? And then in coaching emphasis make offensive focus: run in transition and flex focus: get shooters open
