How to rebound?

How do you rebound? Playing as my center in MyCareer, I try to position myself correctly and box out the opposition (L2 on PS4). Should I then be hitting the jump button? It never seems to help.

Likewise, in MyTeam, once a shot is airborne, what's the best way to set up for a rebound? Switch to a big man (with which button?) and hit L2?
