defensive settings questions.

Playing MYLeague with the Lakers just because I've grown into a huge kobe supporter these last two years learning to respect him. I usually run with the Wiz Kids. Lol.. With that said, I'm in my 3rd game against the Warriors and need to set my defensive matchups. I was going through the screen setting and it's a option called "ice" what does it mean?

Coach Nick got out on the court to explain the best way to defend the sideline screen and roll, using what Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau calls "ICE." Listen carefully during an NBA game and you'll hear the players and coaches scream "ICE!" or "Blue!" This means they want the on ball defender to force the ball handler away from the screen.
This is truly the best way to guard the sideline screen and roll, because it contains the ball handler well and does not require a third defender to rotate over and help.

Re: defensive settings questions.

I almost always select ice.

I know what it is, but is it wise to use it exclusively or is it more of a situational strategy?

The only time I don't use it is versus guys like Bosh and Love.
