why are the shooting percentage so High?

All my games that I play are between 48% to 56% shooting....why cant I ever get a 33% game? Why cant 2k understand that real percentage are around 38 to 44 percent. Why make games so repetitive.....A lot of games that I watch on TV usually end with low 40% games....

wow

Lower the user/cpu shot success sliders. There's a reason 2K doesn't put out of box settings to match low FG%. They don't want people who play the game to be frustrated at missing majority of shots.

Re: why are the shooting percentage so High?

Are you using shot timing of real fg%? Fg% gives ju more realistic shooting stats.

Put it on Simulation, that should help.

Most people hate missing open shots ... or even contested shots for that matter. So the default settings allow shots to go in at a little too high of a rate. Just lower the shot success sliders to your liking.

Re: why are the shooting percentage so High?

Even on all star with shot contest at 100 I have to make the following changes to get realistic percentages using shot stick timing.

Close 37
Inside 37
Mid 40
3PT 42

At those numbers the cpu hits between 39-50% almost all the time and I'm mid 40's give or take.

I get better results with real player % but just enjoy shot stick timing more. I'm going to end up lowering the values even more for me as I get better with the releases.

Honestly, I'll prolly eventually go back to real player % because of the boost I get from good and perfect releases. But to get decent numbers you definitely have to go down from simulation unless you like to take terrible shots.

Re: why are the shooting percentage so High?

I don't get why people continue making threads about something wrong in 2k that can be remedied by simple, straightforward slider adjustments, adjustments that fix most any perceived problem in the game. Does it fix players going through each other? No. Nevertheless, these kind of threads just make the on-court action seem unfairly ****tier than what it really is.

Re: why are the shooting percentage so High?

It's not even slider adjustments. If you can play good enough defense given the difficulty you're on then you should be able to hold the CPU under 45% shooting.

If you're shooting high 50s/low 60s and the CPU is still shooting mid to high 50s then your defensive game is behind your offense.
