NBA2K16 : The classic players need a grafics upgrade

A few of the legend faces I've looked at are pretty good, namely Penny, Zeke, and Pip. Haven't checked all of them though.

It's not just the faces though. The body types are TERRIBLE too. Since when has MJ been anorexic? Even Shaq & Malone look out of proportion and underweight - generic, plain body types with no differing features. Not forgetting, as I've previously mentioned, the jerseys are absolutely HORRENDOUS. Spray painted on with out any decent movement physics.

Again, how can they justify half assing this when the legends/body types and uni's all looked far better on last generation consoles??? The visuals are supposed to be BETTER now.

I understand the thought process of, "how can the legends get worse from last gen?"

but you think about their goal of achieving complete photo realism...the legends were realistically probably secondary...I would imagine its bit more difficult then copying and pasting them over.

Now that they are nearing 100% of players scanned, (I assume so, they said they were at 90% last year) I think we'll get more care on the legends side. It's obvious with the new additions they at least have legends on their mind at this point.

I know that during the last NBA2KTV they said they were introducing a graphical improvement that was supposed to be "huge." I suspect that the reason the legends are crap is because they generally were ported over from the original and modified slightly. I think they probably just haven't gotten to them. If you're an old fogey, like me, you remember that NBA 2K2 was ported over to the Xbox and PS2. The visuals actually looked worse than on the dreamcast. I think it has to do with resolution changes and whatnot. I expect there to be an improvement next year. Honestly, there better be.

Honestly, even if they just converted some of the retro guys' head shapes over to the new game, it would be better than what's in place now for most. Forget face scanning legends, because it's virtually impossible. They have a team of artists educated and talented that went to school for that kind of work. To me there's just no excuse to how bad some of them look. As an artist, one can look at a number of photos and create from that. It's what they've been doing before all the high-tech stuff, right? I know it's very hard to create a CF, but when you have the education and tools to produce stellar work, why are the results so unimpressive? I get mad two minutes into playing anything retro on 2k14 or 2k15 (next gen).

P.S. That thin brotha that plays for the 98' Bulls, #23, should be renamed "Player 99"

I more concerned that the lighting on last gen looks better than this gen. Unacceptable, IMO.

I hope with the addition of the new teams this year (hopefully more are announced) the legends will get a graphical upgrade. The fact they are including new teams this year gives me hope such a thing will happen. The Larry Bird model is a damn joke and seeing that Bill Russell model compared to his 2K12 model is pretty laughable.
