2K needs to work on the mechanics of big men.

As of now, PFs and Cs are being limited from reaching their full potential.

As evident by these threads:

There are things wrong with MAJOR components of a big man. How can they truly be dominant if they don't have the ability to use an arsenal of blocking techniques and rebounding techniques, all of which are seen in the real NBA but can't be utilized within 2K?

The post game also needs to be upgraded, right now all you have are spin shots, fadeaways, and hook shots. Hakeem Olajuwon is useful in the post in 2K, but he would become the true threat that is he in real life in 2K with an upgrade to the post.
Edit: I DO believe the post is in a good spot right now, it's not a top priority and like others have said it's as strong as ever. I'm just saying it could be looked at down the line and be more fine tuned.

Animations also need to be rehauled for certain bigs. Go play with Wilt Chamberlain or Shaquille O'Neal and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Instead of ripping down a rebound and slamming it back in like these dominant greats used to do, they'll grab a board, go for a soft layup against a defender, and it will rim roll out. You very rarely if ever see these men go up and dominate the defense, which they so commonly did during their playing time.

Shaq, the man who broke SEVERAL backboards and hoops, can't even do a simple slam over defenders much smaller than him.

I hope 2K chooses to look at these things soon.

Bigs are the worst players in teh game at contact dunks lol. I have a better shot dunking on you with Russel Westbrook than Shaq. Bigs just get pushed in the body receving no foul call and missing 70% of their attempts near the rim against guards lol.

Don't forget post moves and every big resorting to turn around jumpers instead of hooks.

The post game is the best its ever been in 2k bro. Dont disrespect the game like that. 2k doesnt put every move in a tutorial. Post play is situational bball and there are way more than three moves available.

I've been enjoying your critiques ATL. Well said for the most part.

I can't agree with you on the post though...its the first thing I go into practice and learn in every 2l edition and I feel while needing improvements it's just as solid as ever in 2k15...

Other than that I'm with you...

I'm not saying the post is useless, I use it quite often too. I'm just saying it could be improved, it's definitely not a top priority but just something they could look at down the line.

You're right when it comes to the post, I'm just saying it could be looked at in a later development cycle and improved to make it more fluid.
I was just listing moves off the top of my head so that's my mistake, I believe you can do hooks, up and unders, spin layups/dunks/shots, fadeaways, and hop shots, can't remember the rest though.

Playing center in MyCareer, MyPark, and the Rec center my biggest issues:

1. Ability to easily get stripped; 95% of the time without any consequence to the guard that comes over on a double team attempting to rip me.
2. Ability to get stripped by defending C/PF without any consequence to them.
3. Inability to quickly pass out of the post (might be fixed with touch passes)

I have worked and worked and worked on my post game and it is very rewarding to pull off a move, yet at the same time it's so rewarding because the only thing that works is usually the fadeaway.

Post Spin: Very good takes the C know how he's being guarded.

Fadeaway: overpowered, success rate is extremely high

Drop step: broken, doesn't put you in position for a better move, dunk, layup.

Hop step: Idk, I get ripped on this move 100% of the time.

Shimmy: Doesn't do enough to the defender, the defender just continues to use the right stick to defend you and isn't fooled at all.

Hookshot: Trash, hits at a 40% rate compared to 3pt shooters hitting at 80%

I will say, this is my chance to show off one move I did that I actually liked.

Post spin, into a spinning layup (wish it was a dunk)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7myb7Tj8rkA

The issue with a move like this is a good 75% of the time I lose the ball. Yes my playmaking is low, because I don't need 95% off the garbage in there.

Please separate the post dribbling from crossovers and stuff.
