When matchmaking a pro am game will it be in single gym?

Still don't understand this...is it random? Someone know it for sure?
Played a match with 2 friends(team squad) and it wasn't in our arena but in 4 courts gym..

I think you started a game as a walk on in this case.

If you play walk ons you're gonna play in the "rec". If you play against another legitimate pro am squad its going to be in a single gym (yours or theirs)

Well so..i mean..it's a bit "random"..Because you can just search a game, you can't decide to play only against a team so..If you find a team, you'll play in arena... if not, 4 courts..Ok, thanks guys
