The Game as a Big Man - MyCareer
For anyone getting the game without preordering, or anyone yet to make a MyPlayer and doesn't know exactly what they want as their player, this thread is for you.
Well it seems the Whole 7'3" dribbling like Kyrie Irving is gone, i'm sure their will be plenty less bigmen out there. Being a PF, or C is the toughest position by far, just because there is less of them, and more moves to get to know.
When creating ANY player, it's always good to have a basic mold off an NBA player, not exactly the same, but the same type of player. I myself have molded my 6'10" to be a monster like Anthony Davis, who kicked my *** the first time I played him.
So, my PF is a 79 Overall, Interior Defender (Kinda like Serge Ibaka you could say) and it's VERY hard scoring. I usually score in between 8-16 points a game, on the Nets. Most games, at least half of my points come from the foul line just because I can't get inside, and post moves are very limited to my player, and because my guy can draw contact well.
So, first mistake I made was picking inside scorer, I thought Inside was everything inside the 3pt line, and I was wrong. My Mid-Range jumper has a cap of 66 now... and for this fact, I might need to recreate a player with the balanced scoring option. I recommend for PF you pick Balanced, and for Center, pick Inside.
Rebounds, a LOT harder to come by now, and you HAVE to box out, or be boxed out. Double-Doubles are hard to come by, I've gotten one so far, in my second season of play.
Blocks, a lot more sensible when they happen, more rewarding as well. But don't be surprised when someone like Anthony Davis blocks your ball back into the crowd, it happens. A lot actually, but everytime I've been blocked, it was a bad shot on my part.
The first thing you'll notice is how long your guy is, I maxed out the wingspan (not sure if that effects speed) but I definitely recommend the extra wingspan, when you get beat off the dribble you have a good chance at a nice swat.
The second thing you'll notice is the speed. Or how much speed there isn't. My 3 main categories I've upgraded have been: Athleticism, Jump Shooting, Inside Scoring. And my guy is still noticeably slower than my 7'3" Center in 2K15. But this is for the better, trust me.
So all in all, being a Bigman is a High Risk-High Reward type thing. If you get to be very skilled at playing it, then Pro-am teams are gonna be recruiting you until you die. But unfortunately, you give up a lot of the fun on MyPark, as it's hard for guards to play bigs all the time, and it's not as fun as a guard when playing MyPark, so I recommend getting a guard player for that.
