If you "limit transition", your players are not gonna go out of their way to chase the offensive board, they'll rather run back. However, they may not be fast players or good enough defenders to get a stop everytime...

If you "protect the paint", It doesn't mean all 5 of your guys will swarm the paint for just one guy. Paint defense will just be their priority.

at https://youtu.be/xdLV8Amy1u4?t=80, his guys run back alright, and despite being in good position they were just unable to stop Lebron. Lebron just beat them 1v2. Not much can do. The defensive setting did its job well.

In another possession, he complained about "protecting the paint" setting not doing its job well, when he already had two defenders trying to defend Lebron in the paint. Again Lebron beat them 1v2. Again, the defensive setting did its job well.

If the guy finishes it 1v2, it means the setting did its job just well. If Lebron can beat 2 players by himself, that's no one's fault really I see nothing to complain about there.

I just played a game against the Clippers where 18 of my opponent's 27 FGs were dunks. Including two in-bound alley-oops to Griffin that were defended.

Seriously? What do dunk attributes have to do with your players not getting back on defense and defending the fast break properly?

Errant passes WOULD curb this as well as more bumping animations in transition. I just had someone Hail Mary the ball full court from their Big to Rudy Gay passed numerous defenders, to have him dunk it on a 1, a 2 , and a center all at once. In the rare chance these guys get caught in a half court set, they panic and end up getting locked up on D.

I feel like 2K should drop that Dunk In Traffic Slider to 25 for these online SIMULATION games. The amount of dunks is wild. And having to manually move your center back down court after a bucket is frustrating

I want turbo use to tire players twice as fast as normal and that should help with this. So sickening to chase a turbo John wall with a power forward to a spot on the paint. If he gets tired exerting due to turbo usage he won't be able to play very long or shoot accurately due to lack of legs. Long pass accuracy should be rarely completed too versus easy to use.

Turbo should only be able to be used in quick 3 second "bursts" that have a cooldown before being able to be activated again, I said this last year and stand by it. That way its use would be far more strategic and have to be used at the right time rather than just holding it down half the game with little penalty to your player's performance.
