Question about shooting penalties

Quote:
...But usually it's one of two things. You got bodied up a bunch of times prior to shooting or you dribbled around for too long prior to shooting. If either of those two things happen on a given possession you should probably take a 2 or let someone else shoot.

This is basically what I was going to say. In this example, it was the culmination of a few "smaller" penalties that added up. The moving penalty combined with the body bump are really what hit hardest though. The moving penalty is VERY strict this year... it's there to combat zigzag 3 cheese.
After reading these quotes by Beluba I'm rather confused. From what I understand getting bodied up as well as moving around too much causes a big drop in shooting %.

I'd like a few more clarifications.
  • Does the penalties only happen to ball handlers?
  • Does passing the ball away remove these penalties immediately, or do they stay on a timer?
  • Does ISO moves count as movement? If so, does it hamper players like Curry who likes to ISO for open 3pts? Cause IRL he seems to do that a lot when it comes to crunch time.
  • Do they only apply for 3pts?

Re: Question about shooting penalties

Stamina has a play as well. When you start getting tired, you'll notice your FT rating will drop. If you use the shot meter, pay attention to it. You'll notice that the blue bit will get bigger or smaller if you're tired or hot/cold

Re: Question about shooting penalties

You can't do what curry does IRL. In NBA2K16 u have to use him as a spot up shooter only.

Re: Question about shooting penalties

It's always a bad idea to apply a general solution to a specific issue.

Not true no matter how much you repeat it.

Curry is killer on ISO stepback sizeup 3's.

Show me a vid proving he can't hit stepbacks.

In all seriousness, why don't you just try it yourself instead of posting repeatedly about something that's patently false?

Use the right stick stepback size-up. Same direction that does the behind the back without RT depressed. Curry will dribble between his legs and take a step forward and back.

The defender won't always bite but he often will. When he does he'll step back to anticipate Curry's drive. Curry will pull back and the defender will stumble and get stuck trying to recover to the crowd "oohing". Calmly hit a three with all the daylight you have.
