Shooting Help!

Sup folks?

So I've been playing 2K since we invented the wheel and I am not ashamed to admit that I absolutely, royally suck at the game!

But this year, I am even worse, I mean heck, I'm on anti depressants. So I need fundamental help here, lets clarify this:

1) To shoot, you press Square (PS4) once and then Square again to release right? Or am I getting this wrong? I cant use the stick too well so I resort to them buttons. So its a double tap?

I got that shooting gauge meter on so I try and get it dead center, so I press that, the meter fills and then right in the middle I press again yes?

2) That shooting meter is a ton of help but sometimes I can't see it! Its at the bottom and lord knows how much traffic happens online, is there a way to change the meter or move it above a player?

Thanks Y'all!

Re: Shooting Help!

I haven't used square since they invented the wheel but I'm pretty sure you hold it down till you want to release

Re: Shooting Help!

shooting with the button or stick is similar, its not a double tap, its a hold and release.

Hold the button/stick and let it go at the top of the jump.

Some quick tips for a beginning shooter (from my experience):

I do have the shot meter on, but I don't look at it as i'm shooting, too much going on. I like having it on only so I can take a glance at it after the shot, to see how early or late I was.

Shooting in the game is more about feel, for me. This is where practice mode is your friend. Take a team into freestyle and just shoot jumpers, you will start to get a sense for the release points of different jumpshots that way.
