Experiment: What's Your Defensive Assist Setting/Tips

Box Out Strength: 100

My experience(Strictly Online) with it on 10 is that I can react a little better laterally but only laterally it seems. on 100 I feel like your movements are more weighted but at the same time you are not all over the place at times you will be on a lower setting.


I switch my contest from Intense D to always but the aggravating thing is that he contests everything even if he is not even relatively close to or guarding a guy.

I would like to hear everybody else's experience bc maybe we can help each other out even better and learn something new to tweak in our settings.

Im going to leave you with a quote from Mike Wangs NBA 2K16's blog about the NEW defensive assist feature I have not done enough experimentation with yet and maybe someone can explain it more in detail about their experience using it.

I can’t overstate how much this feature improves the ability to play defense online. There’s also a slider, so you can tweak the strength yourself or turn it off. I'm strictly an online player and I feel like I have much, much more control over what my player is doing on the defensive end, when I set everything to 0/manual. I really hate it, wenn the AI wants to control my player into a different direction than me, and especially the automatic jumping on shots/shot fakes is just annoying.

As a PG with defense maxed out and a gold Perimiter lockdown defender badge, I play with def assist on 0, box out assist on 100 and shot contest on intense D

Any negatives to box out assist strength at 100?

When I first started I had it both on 100 because I just played mycareer. Now I have it both on 0 and shot contest on manual. I felt the assist was making me move where I didn't want to and even box out, the player I was controlling wold literally get pulled over to the defender to get a rebound. My msn was outside the paint I was pulled towards him, It just felt weird so I put it down to 0 and still get double doubles. I used to have shot contest on intense d but kept fouling too much.
