How do I prevent my player from crossing over when I change directions

I have tried using the pro stick to keep the ball in the wrong hand to combat steals created by the crossover.
NBA players don't get ripped because they change directions.

I welcome any advice as this turn over issue make the gameplay less rewarding.

Also what camera shows the passing angles best. I use the drive camera in hopes to stay behind my player when he has the ball, but this only works for some passes

Hold L2 to protect the ball and freely move around the court.

2K Camera for life. Used to play strictly on Broadcast to give the real look of an actual game but found myself using the side of the of the basket way more than the other side. With 2K camera zoomed out I use much more of the entire floor and can see passing lanes.

Thanks. I will try the 2k camera.

When I press the protect ball button driving threw the lane my guy spins. Is there another trick I can try?

Re: How do I prevent my player from crossing over when I change directions

i use 2k cam for practice and blacktop as i need to get my controls right on the cross. using skybox when in game. no problem with the controls.

i'm not sure how to 'not cross' when change direction as i thought this is automatic. i do know changing direction using the right stick is the way to go. of cos, u will have the crossover animation. i dont get 'steal' when i cross bcos the cpu defender would kind of 'freeze' or stunned for a second. the controls input need to be executed before the defender 'body' u up else result in a turnover.

Re: How do I prevent my player from crossing over when I change directions

When I was capturing videos, I noticed most of my turnovers are related to contact. I thought it was the crossover but was wrong. I turn it over running in a straight line. Thanks for the help
