A Question on How To Finish a MyGM Year

I have a question on what is a good balance that others use when it comes to simulating vs playing the games in MyGM. The past two 2ks, I have played all 82 games, but have gotten burnt out by the time I am done with 1 season. I want to do multiple seasons, but at the same time not simulate what seems like a majority of the season. Here is what I am thinking for NBA 2k17:

Play all 4 vs Division opponents
Play 2 vs Conference opponents (1 home & 1 away)
Play 1 vs Non-Conference opponents (alternate home @ away every year)

This would add up to 51 games which seems like a good number to me. Just want to get other input on how many and what games they decide to play

I usually try to play every team once and play a home and away game against divisional opponents and teams that look like they'll make the playoffs from my conference. That way not to burnt out come playoffs and I can play every game there.
