First off, Trackball also said after. So his post still stands. And how isn't he making a productive statement? He's just saying it might not happen as much which is his opinion. It's not rare though; Hook shots like that wide open goes in more than not but also misses like they should.

For a VIDEO GAME that's saying its a SIMULATION, no there shouldn't be guaranteed makes. If wide open dunks shouldn't be 100%, wide open silly hook shots definitely shouldn't either. Your comparison w/ Ryu and shooting someone in the head makes no sense to me. Maybe I just don't get it. I am sure it causes damage but the damage varies. It's not always the same amount.

Plenty of people missed those so called "gimmie" hook shots. Like I said it's a sim no shot should be 100% especially a hook shot I don't care who you are. You also don't know if those hooks have a release point to them. What if the user held it too long? I feel they should go in more w/ a defender on you as well as wide open. But to say a hook wide open (which is dumb as hell to do anyways) should be guaranteed is silly IMO.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's closer to like a layup animation but it's still a hook shot basically. And that or the video you posted shouldn't be 100% just because someone feels like it's a layup or gimmie.

I think the type of animation it is should play a part. So the animations the OP posted aren't easy 100% shots so they shouldn't be guaranteed. The animation you posted should go in A LOT more (which it does) just from looking at the difficulty of the animation compared to the OPs.

Between blowing layups and missing wide own dunks and wide open alleys I'm done with the inside build . Makes no sense to blow this many give me layups around the basket smh . Also alley oops are blown too many times.

I can't believe I missed a wide open dunk to miss the game smh. But as long as people can hit fadeaway threes and contested driving layups at a high rate the game is balanced, right ? Hell no

That's just a terrible animation, anytime I see my dude doing that, I always hold my breath. I hope we get more control of our animations bought in packages. I'd love to be able to buy a dunk package and click a box in the top corner of each animation used, to decide whether I want that using in my game or not. Or, instead of being able to buy 15 dunk packages, separate out the animations and let us buy 50.

Anyone saying this game is sim right now, is out of their minds. There are too many layups, dunks, mid range shots, post fades, and post hooks missing to be close to sim. The main problem is the target community, they are almost giving the "Curry" type of play the go ahead instead of the old school fundamentals.


I have played many All-star team ups with my buddies to lose to a west all star team of Durant, Clay, Curry, Kobe, and Shaq. Contested 3s go in too often to be sim.

If you were playing the online version of ASTU that has random matchmaking, it seems to be set to a much lower difficulty than a normal online ranked match. Based on the freer physics of how the players move on the court, I would guess that it's on either Pro Casual or All-Star Casual.

The best way to play ASTU is by inviting a room of 9 friends into your game so that you can set the difficulty to Hall of Fame Simulation.
