Layups timing

I just realised you don't time them like a jumpshot. You don't release when the ball leaves your hands you release when your feet leaves the ground. Is that correct ?

Re: Layups timing

I thought it was just when the bar/meter becomes full?

Re: Layups timing

Im just guessing here but might sound legit.

Probably a lot of factors in layup timing. Defender, type of layup, rating etc... that factors timing.

Probably becomes useful when playing superstars vs 55 rated bums. Westbrook probably has a better window vs low rated player.

Yeah if you play with the meter. But there is a logic behind it and you can play without it. I really feel like you should be looking at the feet.

Check it out and let me know if that makes sense. Because if you look at the hand and release when the ball leaves then you're always way late.

I agree with that, but so far during the prelude I was looking at the meter everytime because I wasn't used to timing layups lol, I'll definitely experiment with that tho

I did the same thing. I can't really play with the meter bc it distracts my eyes while I'm trying to shoot/finish but I've been playing with it on to learn the timing of things

Re: Layups timing

Same for hooks. Gotta release when feet leaves the ground. At least that gives you a better release if you do that. Looking at the hands is no good.

It's the feets. Slightly after.
