Nba 2K17 : Plays take too long to start and develop

I've noticed this playing in the online league, it's really hard to run plays this year outside of the most basic ones. Trying to run some zipper, it often takes 6 or 7 seconds just so the players are in position and then it hitches here and there and the shot clock is already ticking. There is some really good plays but it's a little discouraging when you're fighting the clock so much.

I think the issue is that with improved player collision detection the AI struggle more to get to their spots and the path finding seem to have taken a step back.

Look how the Contagious Pope struggle to get to his spot. This happens a lot if you're not running simple p'n'rs offense. That's 12 seconds and the play hasn't started yet.

Ive notice this offline too. The out of bounds plays really take too long to develop, but thats been a issue for a years now, had hope that had been improved, but so far it dont look like it.

This definitely is an issue. I thought last year was slow, but this year is worse.

I believe it ie an result of the new off ball physicality. I doubt this is something that can be fixed

I've noticed this also, I will initiate a play but because there's so much bumping/Holding the play won't start until there is like 10 secs left on the shot clock.

With that time left on the shot clock I just have to iso and chuck up a shot

I haven't messed with it yet, but is it any better if you call the play before crossing half court? Dude is spending all his time trying to get to his spot in the half court and I was curious if calling ahead of time will give him "more room" to avoid those bumps and checks.

This is still a problem today.

I'm trying to run plays and 3/4 of the time, players are just fighting through screens or just trying to get into the right position. But because of the lame physicality, it takes forever, leading to a broken play most of the time. Either that, or my A.I teammates don't even use the screens properly and simply run around it...

Re: Nba 2K17 : Plays take too long to start and develop

Just upping this thread. Czar uploaded a nice video on his channel regarding the quick 1 elevator RIP play on 2K18. He says they made an adjustement when it comes to off ball screens during plays, he says that they priotirized the flow of the play over the quality of the off ball screen. In 2K17 the action woudn't start, or the player woudn't start curling around off ball screens until the screener was perfectly set. That would delay everything. So in 2K18 every screens won't be perfect (wich is pretty fair and realistic) but the flow should be a lot better.
