The worse thing to ever happen to 2K is that it became a game about "curing" cheese, instead of a game about realistic, movement, passing, and outcomes. This very thing is why 2K16 became unplayable for me. If everything the cheesers do provokes a response from the dev team then we are in for another sterile experience just like last year.
The limit transition defensive setting seems to work well here and maybe it can be combined with half court press to limit the specific instances you're talking about. Either way I think the game gives us enough tools to combat the cheese. Nerfing something as simple as a pass into half court can have disastrous consequences. Personally, I think pass success in those situations should be contextual. If a man has leaked out and is wide open on the other end then that should be rewarded with a fairly accurate pass. We know the risk/reward of leaking out early. However if he is reasonably covered the pass should be less accurate.
I'm more of an offline player but I'm sensitive to the plight of those playing against cheese daily. If only your suggestions didn't carry over to offline modes.
