Does Charge Card Work? If So, How?

Curious question here.

I'm only aware of the off-ball holding B button "loose ball foul" charges

and the very obvious charge where it is 100% clear regardless of a badge.

Does having the badge give you access to charge animations? Does it change calls that prior to the badge, would have been fouls on you?

Does it work?

I'm a LDD PF and I find it completely useless. Full disclosure, I've gotten 1 charge in MyCareer this entire season. As soon as the AI gets close they stop on a dime. As a big man I'd much rather swat someone as opposed to trying to draw a charge. Wish they would have given us some other badge, pick pocket perhaps. I see more big men poking the ball away in the low post when the offender is backing them down than I do a big man locking up for a charge.

Does anyone know if there is a difficulty setting that makes getting charges easier? I've been trying everything.

Not even going to bother on getting that badge for my rim protector. Out of the badges assigned to the defensive guys we get the **** tier one.

I am trying to get it and see if it does anything. Badges are really useful this year so I really hope this badge would do something. Still 3 charges to go with 30 matches left.
