The close out speed is definitely too quick when you are running freely with turbo held down. But the lateral quickness in this game is abysmal when you are in your defensive stance and holding the left trigger.

Yep you'll notice how you still get floored to the ground with pick dodger HOF or how many bailout fouls / loose balls the offense gets.

If I make a LDD will the computer still randomly pull me in directions without any user input? Will my ankles still get shattered even though I didn't move during his 18 dribble move combo?
I give a Marv Albert "Yes!" to all of the above points.

The improved ratings and badges that a lockdown defender has cannot overcome the numerous mechanical imbalances that all defenders, regardless of ratings and badges, have to deal with in this game.

Another balancing issue that no one has mentioned in the last couple of posts is how quickly the defender's stamina meter drains compared to how slowly the dribbler's stamina meter drains.

I play a 6'10 200lb SF LDD and my ankles haven't been taken online, maybe once so far but that's a guess. I do still get unnaturally pulled here and there but it doesn't feel as bad as when I'm on my Sharpshooter. I consistently can shut down other players dribble moves unless they are like a 6'0 PG that's speed boosting.

The game controlling your defensive movements is a big problem if defensive help is set to 0 it should be none at all and if I get beaten it's on me

The responsiveness is a big problem too, way to hard, add lag and that your nearly playing a decade after you see it.

Animations are also way to strong, going for an easy intercept is such a gamble which can end up with you running meters away leaving you man wide open

IMO defense is purposely handicapped in so many ways, partly due the limitations in passing. If they could figure out how to get the ball speed correct for all pass types and allow for User and CPU players to put the ball exactly where they want to(taking ratings into account of course) then delayed steal reactions, crazy out of position spins and so many other things could be fixed.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Defense needs to be the MAIN focus of development in NBA2K18

I've been having a lot of trouble contesting shots without fouling in pro am, even with my hands up as a paint protector.

Any advice ?

I change shot contest or whatever it's called to manual. Haven't seen the ridiculous foul calls yet. Only solution I've found so far. Hope it helps.
