MyLeague Salary Cap Workarounds

With salary cap projections over $100 million for the 2017-18 season and reaching $114 million by 2020, without proper settings, MyLeague can become very difficult to manage and very unrealistic.

Salary cap settings are a one shot deal, set up at the beginning of MyLeague. Without adjusting settings, the cap stays at this years cap just over $95 million for future seasons.

I'm now in the 2018 offseason, and most teams are over the cap, and there are more high caliber free agents than money available. Are there any workarounds possible? What I'm considering is scaling back all non-rookie contracts to 80% of their current value, and I believe it's possible to adjust settings so free agents ask for lower contracts. Obviously with 400+ players that a big and tedious task.

For anyone else that has faced this issue, what have you done?

I just set the inflation rate higher and crossed my fingers lol. Can't get it completely accurate. I forget what my test results were it's been so long tbh. I just got to year 2.

I'm talking about after you have started MyLeague. Adjusting the inflation rate can only be done prior to starting.

There's really no way to get the big jump from 16-17 to 17-18 then the smaller increases thereafter without it being coded into the game like last year

The only thing I can think of if you haven't done it already is to bring in expansion teams. They will have enough money to sign the high caliber free agents.

I think you can edit salaries (even for free agents)....lower the free agents contract.. sign him, then up the contract if you feel you need to. If that doesn't work...you can always lower the the attributes so low that they sign for the minimum, and then readjust their attributes (and salary if you want)
