I believe the black hole effect is literally the suction into the screen.

in 2k17 its completely unavoidable, while in the vid he explains that you can evade screens with the right stick, and lessen their impact.

this is a huge addition and could help so much with defending the PnR and can make pro-am so much more enjoyable.

No, this feature will stay in the game because it is useful and "real".
What we talking about is that : https://twitter.com/wolf__74/status/891822267650461696

As you can see in the vid, he is stucked in the screen and his player is wide open for the 3. But with the right stick, he magically frees himself and slide towards his opponent to contest the shot..

Am I the only person with an utter disdain for videos that talk about something while a video of the game plays that has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed?

I find it 10X more enjoyable to minimize the video and just listen to the words. Why don't they just write an article or something? I have zero interest in watching some random Pro-AM game.

Yes it works best with faster guys but if you e ever thought to yourself how the heck a guy closed out to you that was probably the reason why

NBA2K18 hands on impression- defense part 1 of 2 2K17 vs 2K18(DmanUnt2014)

Staying on a guys hip is really important but in 2k17 your basically in front of a guy or he's around you. They didn't really account for guys who can't really stay in front of guys but have great recovery speed and stay ON a guy and slow him down. Kyrie is really good at staying attached when he's locked in on D. He even gets some blocks playing on a guys hip

It's not the ideal defensive position but let's say you have Kawhi on your hip. That's different than having Kyle Korver on your hip and should be represented. Basically a PG like Jose Calderon should rarely have guys in his hip if he's not in the pick and roll, but a guy like Kyrie should have guys struggling every game

There's a move Kyrie does where he comes off a pick then slows down to feel your body then explodes to the rim for a layup

So I also have to wonder if the stop and go is a thing in 2k18. A lot of great PGs use it off screens and such

Most of the videos of what talk about for NBA 2K18 is about pro-am of about gameplay in PNO OR My league. So when you talk about your impression about the game break it use on what different in nba team play vs pro am play.

Disappointed that the help defense might not have been completely re-written or rectified. The AI still has offball defenders crashing from the corner giving up wide - open three's. That is a big no, no IRL, especially without good/great defensive rotation in the game.

He also didn't really speak about any of the other defensive AI issues from last year's game (poor defensive rotations, losing man after made basket, poor transition defense and not "realistically" double teaming on bad match ups).

Hoping we hear more about these issues and they will determine if I purchase day 1 (or later on sale).

Hopefully 2K doesn't completely fudge up the game like they're known to do after the first patch.

Everything looks good, I'm sure it'll feel good in the Prelude demo.
