They had that for 2K17, if you hit legend they were gonna do something like that for 2K18

In 2K18 all the guys who hit Legend in 17, were put on a Wall Of Fame. Something similar will happen for the 99s

Maybe it has to do with the "wall of Fame" list they showed when entering the playground area. My other guess would be maybe there will be statues placed around the neighborhood for the immortalized players, like the statue shown in the trailer.

A statue in honor of your my player in your neighborhood or, more logically, outside the team's arena where you got your jersey retired would be dope as hell. Not into gimmicks and stuff but that would be a nice addition.
