This has really stuck out to me so far (10 minutes in). It started with a weird Lanier travel at 3:44, continued with that 5:20 play, and generally seemed to pop up every few minutes. I agree. But at the very least the animation should allow us to prevent the lead pass standing dunk scenario from 2k17. I will hold my breath on loose ball plays vs the cpu.

I really dont get the negativity on this video. I thought that the gameplay looked good. I do think that there should be more charge calls now that penetration is more realistic. This would be a balance for out of control drives into defenders.

Again to me it looked like the AI Grant Hill was forced into the jumper because he didn't get into the launch Zone to get a layup animation.

Mike Wang has already said the game doesn't rely on canned animations so thats why no 2 man driving layup anination played if he wasn't in the take off zone. Imo anyway.

If we could only see ourselves now 3-4 years ago.

We wanted an AI who wasnt so hell bent on getting to the basket every trip down, took some mid range J's, took some dumb, early shot clock shots...just played with some variety...lol

I think the fundamental issue is that sliding is still definitely a real thing in 2K18. Not sure if my memory is failing me, but I think it weakened from 2K16 - 2K17 (stronger in 16 from memory).

It may have something to do with implementing a new motion system which I am sure would take lots of work. Maybe trying to get more planting in again could simply have jeopardized the new system (dev cycle thing).

I did see some great freedom on the right drives. Some of his drives were a bit too forceful and deserved resistance.

When he got into the paint, some good fouls, blocks, layup attempts.

So how did Brian get clear gameplay when so far we've had shaky bootleg?

I'm guessing it's that press event from a few weeks ago. Looks like those who went got direct feed. I doubt these are from yesterday.
