2K18 detail study of dribble mechanics: 11 live dribble moves + how to chain them

The new rhythm dribble this year gives a huge advantage to the offense to chain together any series of deadly iso dribble moves. Take a look at how i chain 5 separate moves with it, and quite frankly this is as smooth as I have ever seen on 2K.



The fact that the new rhythm dribble takes one flick of the stick and triggers a 4-6 seconds dribble animation is pretty crazy lol I've enjoyed the dribbling so far this year, what about you guys ?

11 live dribble moves......2k16 had over a HUNDRED signature dribble animations to chose from that you could chain out of. You could actually assign players unique dribbles that separated them from the pack. Canned animation or not, at least it gave the players individuality.

Man, this is one of the reasons I dropped 2k17. Why go to all that effort putting in so many AMAZING dribble packages for just one year, then remove them.....

As smooth as butter as the dribbling is in 2k18, and barring speed difference, everyone just felt the same in the prelude. Nothing unique to make a differential.

You do realize the 11 live dribble moves are the "controls" for different dribbles. Each dribble could have its own of 2-3 signature animations. Like for every player flicking the RS up is rhythm dribble but every player's is different. Or flicking RS up with turbo = in & out but just Curry alone has three different ones he does. Thats 11 different controls with each control having multiple different signature versions just for 1 player. I think just Curry himself has probably 25 animations with 11 different type of controls.

Does anyone know how to perform a "walking sizeup"

These are new to 2K and Mike Wang said they are a total game changer. I'm assuming they'd be ideal for mid-range guys like Westbrook and Kyrie..

Not in my experience. The players have no-where NEAR the differing range of dribble options they had in 2k16. Not even CLOSE.

Walking size ups have been in the game for a while they're just better now. Feather the left stick to walk and flick the right stick to dribble. You have to play around because there's a lot you can do. Try walking and seeing what flicking the right stick in each direction does. Go from there.
