You must have a silver or gold freethrow badge or the best freethrow animation on the game. That literally preposterous. And im not a bum shooting freethrows. I got good releases at will before the badge and shot, 50% on my freethrows. Got the badge, same free throw, 80 percent. Now it slike 60 percent.

I'm not claiming you're a bum. But nothing changed for me. I'm using the literal default freethrow. Career games I damn near don't miss. 90%. I turned shot meter off, and look for a certain hitch in the animation to release.

Pro am is a slightly different story, but I'd say 75-80% in the last few games

I havent played this game in 7 yrs, and I just picked it up. Playing on Superstar level with FT% at default. Im shooting 85% at the line.

Well shoot maybe I need to change my FT. It plummeted for me. 75% not bad. itd be realistic.

What needs to be fixed? if you dont have the ratings for it then you shouldnt Hit 80%. period. the free throw ratings in 2k usually go Hand in Hand with the percentages. if you expect to Hit 80% then you should have a Player with an 80 free throw rating.

Also when people bring up the on screen % when releasing a FT
How many people think it portrays the % that you will make the shot?

I've had friends get mad starting wow he missed a 90% ECT ECT...

Im in the camp under the belief that the %shown in Game during release is just the% of how accurate
Your release is to perfect aka. Ratings hold weight but release is slightly weighted more.

Again; I don't think the percentage reflects shot success but rather animation success

You should only be hitting 80% of your free throws if your free throw rating is 80. That is how that rating works.
