How do you develop a player's certain aspect in NBA 2K18?

So, I want to develop Ben Simmons' 3 point shots in MyLeague.

I am an old timer and back in NBA 2K4 or 2K5 there is this some sort of a workout mini game where you can develop a certain attribute of a player.

Let's say you want to improve a player's 3 point, you can participate in a 3 point specific workout where you need to hit a number of 3s in a certain amount of time. If you succeed, your 3 point attribute goes up by a certain point. Simple as that.

Now I do not see this in today's 2K. I understand that you can assign specific focus in the coaching menu but the improvement is very very slow. So am I missing something or is this the only way to develop your players in 2K18?

I believe you can determine what type of attribute development a player focuses on under the Training menu. It's defaulted to position specific, but can be altered to concentrate on whatever you'd like at the intensity of your choice.
