How far are we from mods on consoles?

Last I heard it was "years." I doubt the answers changed, but I'd do anything for a roster editor. Just asking, though.

2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

I'd say still a long ways off. Modding requires direct access to the game's internal files, which is not possible when games are being read off of a disc.

Even when the games are installed to the console's HDD, there's no way to access the files, much less copy them to a PC and back.

Won't ever happen. If it does, it would be similar to Skyrim setup, so limited.

Fallout 4 has a mod system which people were able to re-skin weapons and do other things so it's possible.

Nailed it on the head here.

The roster editor was the closest we ever got. But even that got weird towards the end. It was Beds that made that too right. And then 2k hired him lol.

That editor was great. Got the legends hooked up with the proper short length/socks/accessory colours etc - really miss that thing from the PS3.
