The Forgotten Mode: All-Star Teamup Needs Some Lovin', Too

Not sure how much traction this will pick up, but All-Star Teamup was one of the modes I've played most in the past couple of years. A group of my Playstation friends always set up private matches against each other, picking captains and choosing teams, and then individually picking each player from the East/West. However, the mode has gotten stale, as despite all of the fantastic additions in the Classic Teams, there are some puzzling omissions in ASTU that just don't make sense.

Rip Hamilton has been in the game for years and he's not available to be selected. However, you can choose from one of six Michael Jordans for some reason. Boston's Ray Allen is nowhere to be found. And damnit, if I want to use Greg Ostertag at center to humble one of my buddies, I should be able to.

So now, with the additions of legends like Brandon Roy and Gilbert Arenas, it'd be a shame to see these players unable to chosen, as well. 2k, you guys have the players, you have the teams, just put them in the damn mode.

Another suggestion, do away with the East vs West format; matchups get stale. You can only enjoy playing LeBron vs KD, Michael vs Kobe, Kyrie vs Steph so many times. Here's an innovative renovation for the mode:

Allow team captains: These two players get to choose their NBA player and position first. You get the entire pool of players in the game to choose from, and then after they are selected, you draft the other users, who are then subsequently allowed to choose their players and positions. This will keep matchups new and fresh, as well as balancing the game out, as the West has FAR more viable options than the East at the moment.

You don't have to get innovative with this mode 2k, it plays just fine. But please, don't restrict us to the same players that we've been using the past two years.

Since the beginning of 2K18 I always hoped they would update the rosters in all star team up. Would be better if they just erased the entire selection of players & threw in all the all time players. Always wanted to use bald Kobe or braids Melo.

This is the online gaming I do with 2K.
The servers started off terrible but after a few weeks it was good.
The past 6 months I can't find games. I don't know if nobody is playing or what?

My group plays teammup every night (3 of us) and we have no problem finding game after game.

If you get in between 9-11 pm then you shouldn't have a problem.

They really need to add matchmaking for this. Would love to do 3v3 all star teammup more often

This times a million. I have played so much teamup it is crazy but they nearly ignore the mode. Man I wish they would add a ranked version of allstar team up where you can que in at a position and where quitters are penalized. A ranked version of this mode would probably compete with My career pro-am though and they sure don't want to lose any of those precious VC sales.

As a long time team-up player, I'd recommend you and your friends try regular NBA team-up. IMO it is far better than ASTU as you can pick from current, classic, and all-time teams, not to mention slider and quarter length customization. If anyone plays on PC and feels like playing 5v5 sim ball on HOF sliders, HMU.
