I’m thinking about upgrading from 2k19 to 2k20 now and I play exclusively my career offline, not interested at all on building a player to play online.

Is it an upgrade vs 2k19 for solo playing? Are team mates smart enough? Which difficulty to use for realistic gameplay? What kind of build to use? I usually like to create a stretch big men that can shot, are they fun this year?

From a purely offline career stand point it's the same as its ever been. Even with plays on, regardless of your position/archetype. It's solely on you to carry your team by 30 point triple doubles on higher difficulties. I created 6 different players this year. Luka has steadily gone up in rating and badges, but they've refused to edit his most important tendencies. So even tho he's a 97 on my most recent player, he still averages about 16ppg when simulating. I think it's hard coded into the AI teammates. If you play against a superstar he'll light you up. I have trouble guarding Curry every time i play against him. But my boy always plays on the Warriors and he says he bricks everything. I remember one game i gave luka 4 different looks in transition. He took a leaning fadeaway 2 every time. Bricked every one. That's with a 90 midrange and HOF Difficult Shots.

If i play against Luka he's an animal.


All that said, the best PF build I've made is the pure gold pie chart. That's a pure playmaker 6'9 PF. He can shoot, dunk, play defense and dribble. Super fun online.

Hoarding stars on my team; pretty fun playing with teammates that can actually do things for themselves. They love throwing lobs to AD, and Mitchell has been surprisingly effective for us. My center sits around the 15.6 PPG mark with 8.8 assists. Superstar difficulty with 10 minute quarters.

I'm on the Magic finally reached the finals and we're playing against the Rockets. I'm down 2-1 on HOF after playing the entire season on All star. It's hard to beat the Rockets both Harden and Westbrook just hit threes and Gerald green too. Meanwhile my team just bricks shots we take the lead then lose it immediately. I like the challenge though.

So I came back and won the finals 4-2. We got lucky Westbrook kept on bricking shots.

Got bored of my team with AD Lebron and kawhi. I averaged like 22 assists but would struggle to shoot. Decided to make a big man like I always do and boy....why did I ever make anything else? Put my 6’11 paint beast on the bucks and our defense is stifling. On top of that, Giannis is a walking cheat code. Give him the ball and call a quick iso, and he will blow by his defender and dunk it 9 times out of ten. Hit him on the fast break that’s an automatic bucket. Dude scored 79 points in a game cause I just kept feeding him. And this is on HOF! Was looking forward to getting more stars on the team but idk if I even need any.

There needs to be an offline career option that doesn't require you to play purely offline. There's no reason for you to kick me entirely out of a career game if my connection drops for half a second. Once your connection resumes you have to start that game all the way over again. If you are offline it should be able to still match your character progress with the cloud save and give you all your badge progress. Madden has a feature like this. If your power goes out during an offline CFM game you can start right back where you left off previously. If i have no connection at all, you should still be able to play and accrue a VC voucher as well.
