Questions about MyLeague/MyGM

Hello everyone,

I've mostly been playing a MyCareer and MyTeam player, but I've started playing MyLeague and MyGM and gotten into it, but I need to wrap my head around things I don't understand so I have some questions
  • Whats the difference between renouncing rights and cap holding?
  • What are Sim Points of emphasis, and do they make a difference in the sim, if so, how should I set them to win? I see that sometimes even with a above average team they sometimes finish below .500
  • Do playbooks affect the sim? If so whats a good playbook for attacking the paint, and a playbook for shooting?
  • When I'm scouting, what should I be looking for?
  • Does custom rotations even matter when simming games?

Any tips are appreciated!

Re: Questions about MyLeague/MyGM

1. If you renounce rights you will loose bird rights you may have to a player (allowing you to sign him over the salary cap). If you don't you have a Cap hold, means some part of his old salary still counts against your salary cap until either you or another team signs him.

2. They do make a difference in how your team plays in simmed games. Cannot recommend you how to set it as I would base that on what type of players you have.

3. I don't know that. I usually create my own playbook.

4. I automate scouting usually. I mean, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't matter anyway. All players get good at some point, at least the ones drafted at higher positions.

5. Yeah it does. You can set your minutes exactly the way you want them to be.

Thank you for the tips, for number 2, what would you recommend if I had a team full of shooters, and one good wing defender?

Re: Questions about MyLeague/MyGM

play celtics playbook.

patient offence (select the slowest)
get shooters open
some crash others get back
some crash others run in transition
physical defence

and 8 seconds attack in coach style

only scout top picks
about bird rights there is a bug in the game in some conditions that allow you to sign if you even renounce
