Kobe has a distinct look on the 2012 team as well (goatee, more muscular than any of his current models) but I’d bet he’s going to have that same shaved head look from like 2016.

Same for the 2016 guys in that picture. Kyrie didn’t have hair like that in 2016 and his beard wasn’t nearly as big. Draymond didn’t have a beard. Paul George had a crew cut and like a five o clock shadow.

We can all agree that graphics have plateaued on PS4, and they look quite good, but there’s no reason that imperfect/inaccurate or outdated models can’t be updated.
Maybe splitting hairs but in lieu of laziness I always figured it was a matter of saving time where they could. Seems like a yearly release is always a serious time crunch so there's probably some corners and shortcuts they have to concede every year, such as using the current models for past versions of certain players.

That said, when 2K has implemented that younger/older model differentiation, it's almost always been super cool. Afro Kareem/bald Kareem, hair Mike/bald Mike, Bucks Ray Allen/Heat Ray Allen, flowing locks Manu/buzzed Manu, etc. It's really the cherry on top. They did that a bit in their 2K12 Greatest Mode too (I remember rookie Tim Duncan having the rookie Tim Duncan look).

I don't understand why the '96 and '08 Olympics teams never get recognized

Call it what it is; sloppy work. That said, I really don't see any reason why they can't correct at a minimum the uniform issues. It's not like it cannot be done...

I've read that they scanned the jerseys.
Perhaps they should buy official stuffs if it's really the case.

I've pointed those mistakes before the release, but they havent fix it.

I made 12 Team USA jerseys for 2K20
im not good at it but in few hours i think i get a better result that 2K with all their tools designed for their game.

Agreed, it cant be that hard to update a certain model from a certain team. They dont even reallt have to change the face, just the hairstyles. Its fun to some people, i had the most fun in 2k making rosters.

Also, why only 2012 and 2016 olympic teams? Why not 2000 and 2004 ? Those were fun teams too, they have most players too

Wonder what members of the 2004 team would say? No fun there (three losses and a bronze medal).
