Re: NEXT GEN Jordan and the '96 Bulls

BOSTON -- Larry Legend and the '86 Celtics battle Jordan's 1996 Bulls and it is an instant classic!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2INyyMTKNI&t=3892s

#LarryBird #NBA2K21 #Nextgen #Jordan #86Celtics #96Bulls

The begin of the game was slow-paced, as both teams struggle to score. Boston's gameplan was obvious though. THey pounded the ball inside to McHale and Parish with some success. It was 22-20 Boston.

THe 2nd quarter remained close (15:29). Pippen was starting to find his rhythm in the post, while Boston continued to pound the ball inside. McHale had 10 pts in the period. Chicago was also in early penalty. Jordan did start hitting his shot late, and it is tied at the half 47-47.

Jordan was the high man at the half with 17. Kevin McHale led Boston with 14.

THe game continued to be slow paced in the 3rd (34:19) and the Celtics would continue to have success in side with Parish and McHale. DJ also would start scoring more, with 9 in the period. Jordan kept the Bulls in the game with 15 pts in the period, including a dunk over the Boston towers McHale and Parish (43:37). Boston hangs on to a 73-71 lead.

The 4th quarter (52:33) remained close and it was tied with about 3 mins to go (1:00:31). Jordan and Bird would duel in the final minutes. (1:04:52) Bird would have them up by 2 with just 1 minute and a half remaining after a 3 and 2 FT's. (1:06:42) But Jordan would prove to be even more clutch as he would score Chicago's final 14 pts, including 8 pts in the last 93 secs to lead the Bulls to a 104-98 victory.

Michael Jordan was solid all-around, finsihed with 48 pts, 8 rebs, 9 assts and 4 steals. Pippen had 21-5-5. Kerr and Kukoc rounded out the bench scoring 11 and 10 respectively.

DJ led the Celtics with 23 pts and 11 assts. Larry Bird did not get going until late, mostly deferring to his teammates the whole game. He finished with just 19 pts 5 rebs 3 assts. McHale had 19 pts, most of them in the 2nd half, and 9 rebs. Parish had a double-double with 18 pts 11 rebs.

Thought I'd share some screencaps.

Still working on the video of the game. There's a problem with the Xbox video captures having no audio.

In the pic with Jordan in the squat position, he looks like a cross between Chris Webber when he was at Michigan and Kevin Garnett lol. Chris Garnett out there impersonating MJ lol.

Re: NEXT GEN Jordan and the '96 Bulls

CHICAGO -- Jordan and the Bulls host one of the the most dynamic duos of the 90s, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.

https://youtu.be/GYx-wxpwuFE

The first quarter was another sluggish quarter for both teams. Poor shooting and turnovers. Tempo was favorable to the Bulls but they could not get anything going on offense. Toronto came out ahead after one, 22-20.

In the second quarter, Scottie Pippen and Toni Kukoc had a strong aggressive start. Pippen made 3 straight shots to bring the Bulls back up. McGrady however responded, matched up with Pippen for most of the game. Its Chicago ahead at the half 49-43.

Jordan led everyone at the half with 19 pts. McGrady led Toronto with 14.

THe Bulls continued their offensive rhythm into the 3rd and grew their lead into double digits early on. But then Vince Carter started to heat up. He would score 18 pts in the period, including 11 straight in a stretch, to help Toronto take as much as an 8 pt lead. Antonio Davis also prevailed on the offensive boards, giving them 2nd chance points, 9 pts and 9rebs in the period. A late push from Jordan and the bench put the Bulls to within 2 at the end of the quarter, 72-70.

At the start of the 4th quarter, Tracy McGrady and Michael Jordan were trading baskets and by midway the 4th, Jordan had outscored him, including a baseline dunk and-1 on Tmac, to help the Bulls take a narrow 3 pt lead. The second half of the quarter was a cold one for both teams. Carter, who had a spectacular 3rd period, was held scoreless, often having to pass out of the defense. Bulls held the Raptors to just 2 pts in the last 6 minutes. Jordan was able to go to the Ft line however to give them enough cushion to walk away with the W, 89-85.

Re: NEXT GEN Jordan and the '96 Bulls

The shorts and uniforms on the Bulls and Sonics look terrible.
2K is going backwards in my opinion. That doesn't look next gen at all.
If they're gonna gonna continue to have retro teams they need to overhaul them. They can't be looking like it's 2015 when other things are polished.

Re: NEXT GEN Jordan and the '96 Bulls

CHICAGO -- Another chance to settle the GOAT debate as Lebron's Heat meet JOrdan's Bulls in another head-to-head matchup. NBA2K21 #Nextgen #Jordan #2013heat #96Bulls

https://youtu.be/ElOmr0rtbNw

The first half was close, as the Bulls held a 1-pt margin against the Heat. Miami was shooting it well, 51% while draining 7 3's in the first half to keep things interesting.

The two superstars were at it early. Jordan had 20 pts in the first half. LeBron had it going, even from long rainge. The King already had 29 after 2 quarters.

We kick things off in the 3rd quarter as the game remained close, until the last 2 mins, as Jordan scored 6 straight pts to place the Bulls on top 89-82 after 3. The 4th quarter was a good one. It started with a 3-pt play from LeBron. THen 3 consecutive 3's from the Heat got the game tied just 3 and a half minutes in. Jordan then went on another tear, scoring 11 straight points including an and-1 poster over Haslem. They would hold a 6 pt lead with over 4 mins to play before the Heat called timeout to regroup. THerafter, Chicago went cold, as Jordan couldnt find his jumper. The Heat rallied, eventually taking a 1-pt lead after a follow up from Bosh with 2 minutes remaining. Heat held on to this narrow lead, until Jordan finally connected on a fadeaway with 1:15 remaining, to bring Chicago up by 1. The Heat would respond on the other end, c/o D.Wade who followed up on his own miss to regain the lead 107-106. Jordan would again miss his shot on the next possession, while Wade connected with Haslem on the ensuing play to bring the Heat up by 3 with 38 secs remaining. On the next play, the Bulls ran a play for Steve Kerr who would connect on a 3 to tie the game with 24.9 secs remaining. On the game's last possession, it was Dwyane Wade who again would get the call, but he would miss a floater, while Haslem's follow up got blocked by Pippen to send the game into OVERTIME.

In overtime, it was the Heat who led for most of the way. But they did not really lead by more than 3 as the Bulls kept fighting back, only this time, Steve Kerr was missing some open 3-pt shots. LeBron was big in OT, and he put the Heat up by 5 finally with 57 secs to go with a backdoor alley-oop from Wade. The Bulls would pull to within 2 after a 3-pt shot from Kerr with 14 secs left. Mario Chalmers, would get fouled, made 1/2 FT's to make it 124-121. The Bulls would have one final chance to tie, but Kukoc missed a deep 3-pointer as time expired, and the Heat hang on to win 124-121. LeBron James led the way with 57 pts 13 rebs 4 assts 4 stls. Wade added 20 pts, 10 assts. Chalmers had 17. Bosh had only 8 pts but had 18 rebs Jordan finished with 56 pts 6 rebs 8 assts 2 stls 2 blks. Kerr had 18 pts on 6 3pters made. Pippen was the missing link here, shooting just 5/15 and finishing with only 15. Rodman had 19 rebs but fouled out in the 4th period.

Re: NEXT GEN Jordan and the '96 Bulls

CHICAGO -- Great Matchup of 2 great Championship Teams - the 1994 Rockets and the 1996 Bulls. Jordan takes on Hakeem Olajuwon & Co.

https://youtu.be/ahoVAr0W_Zk

THe Rockets started out of the gate hitting their shots from 3, as the Bulls started to double Hakeem early. THey grabbed an early lead. Jordan, however, would get hot around the 3 min mark, scoring 10 straight points to push the Bulls ahead by 7. The Rockets again responded, still hitting from long range, spreading the defense, and they take a slim 26-25 lead against the Bulls after one.

The second quarter was another tight one. THe Rockets backcourt starting connecting, but Scottie Pippen also had a great quarter. He had 13 pts in the period, leading the Bulls second unit while Jordan was on the bench. Kukoc would also respond with 9 of his own. Bulls up 6 at the half- 52-46.

Hakeem already with a double-double with 11 pts 11 rebs. Jordan had 16.

The 3rd quarter was a back and forth affair until the last few minutes when the Rockets went cold, scoring just 2 pts in the last 4 minutes, and the Bulls grow the lead to 9, 79-70 heading into the 4th.

The Rockets continued to be cold in the 4th, as they could not find a shot. They shot only 35% form the floor in this period. They fell behind by as much as 14. They were down by 13 with 4 mins left. It was the Bulls turn to get cold though, as they was scoreless for about 3 mins as the ROckets tried to mount a comeback. Lead was just 5 with still 2 mins to go. THey would pull enough defensive stops, however, while JOrdan scored on a 3-pt play and a jumper to break the drought and put the Rockets away for good.

Bulls win. 100-91.

Scottie Pippen was the high man with 33 pts 6 rebs 2 assts 2 stls. Jordan was the POG with 32 pts 6 rebs 9 assts 3 stls 1 blk. Kukoc added 14. Rodman had 19 rebs.

Olajuwon finsihed with 23 pts 19 rebs. Next high scorer was Otis Thorpe with 14 pts and 11 rebs. Cassell and Kenny Smith struggled, finishing with 11 & 10 respectively, on a combined 7/26 from the field.
