Understanding the picks Swap best / Swap worst

Hi guys,

I am still a bit noob for NBA and 2k. I must say i struggle a bit to clearly understand the worst/best outcome on traded picks.

Most confusing situation for me is New Orleans for 2024 1st round with Milwaukee.

What does it means ?

Would appreciate sopme clarification from knowledgable minds.

Yeah... 2K's wording is technically correct, but everyone hates it. They really should display it like "First Round Pick Swap = Best: NOP; Worst: LAL."

On the screenshot you shared, read it like this...

If we say the Protection is "Swap [Best/Worst] with [Team A]" and we label the Origin team as "[Team B]", then the meaning is "[Team A] gets the [Best/Worst] pick between their own and [Team B]'s pick."

Also, just FYI re: the trade screen, the way it works is: The recipient team (i.e., the team whose logo is right next to the pick rectangle) receives the indicated pick (i.e., Best or Worst). So, in this screenshot...

The little rectangle that has the pick and the word "Worst" has the Hornets' logo next to it, so the Hornets receive the Worst of the two picks. Brooklyn, by contrast, receives the Best of the two picks, since the rectangle with "Best" is next to the Brooklyn logo. It's a little counterintuitive because the team benefiting from the swap has the word "Worst" in their trade column, but that's how it works. Just focus on the logos within the individual pick rectangles.
