If you're on PS3 (like me...!) , just download 2K's new roster update as of yesterday...it's the "closest" we're gonna get to Nogsters rosters...

(Nogster, keep posting your edits...as I am constantly tweaking when I read your posts...sincerely, fellow PS3 user)

...UNTIL someone greatfully posts the edits from the 360 to the PS3...

so now, the players are going to have a much higher will to drive than to shoot Js.

the reason i didnt change the 2kscale, and just raised certain players drive the lane is because testing the game, i felt only the prominent drivers needed significant boosts. i felt the game still played alright at 0 drive, [other than as i said, the star lane attackers needed boosts.
but my scale is in line with the rest of the shooting tendencies. so they are more balanced.
ie: yeah lebron, wade, paul, harris etc, will look to drive and attack the offense, but will also pull up when the opportunity is there.
ive tested the 2k release, and yeah, players are looking to drive now. but this has taken away from the mid range game, because the driving tendency for many players is double the mid or pull up tendencies. DOH!
Thanks alot man, I kind of figured this might be the case when I saw the 2k roster w/ Bryant's Drive the Lane tendancy at 87. I think you had it at 60 and it just felt alot more realistic to me. It was good they fixed this for everyone, just seems now that the flow of the game is a little out of whack. As always, thanks for the reply and keep up the good work!! I know I'm being repetative, but your rosters are what keeps me playing this game year in and year out! Have a good weekend man!

Re: NOGSTERS NBA2K10

Hi Nogster ...

I have some questions you may help me answer / address / correct ... I am working on an edited roster for the PS3 community and while I have most stats on par with last year and this year likely trend, I have some that are off:

Regarding Teams
1. Excesive (+ 1000) FG attempts from all teams (the tempo seems pretty good oncourt and also for sim PPG stats).

2. Specific tempo dilemmas with POR & IND (POR keeps scoring too many points and I have drop their scale to the range of NO, CHA & SA; IND cant seem to score as expected and I have raised their scale to that of NY & PHO).

3. PPG allowed (there are differences for a couple of teams, how can I help them raise or drop)

Individuals
4. The Chris Paul insufficient assists (with my tweaks he has drop his score to 20-21 ppg but only raised his As to 8, I have upped his rating and also the drive pass tendency but if i upped more I may drop his score too much).

Re: NOGSTERS NBA2K10

as for 1) That´s a display error by the game that as far as i can remember is allready fixed for the patch.

Th FG attempts are fine (look at the game box scores and player stats), they are just displayed wrong in the team stats screen for whatever reason.

ignore the team stats for shot attempts.
its wrong.
go and check the box scores and you will see the shot attempts are pretty much on point around 75-90fgas.
its a glitch or something in the team stats menu.
the same goes for the players attempts. from 3 as well.
the box scores are on point though. again. its a glitch in the team stats menu. maybe 2k will fix this in the patch. but i doubt it.

honestly i havent really looked that deeply into that part of the stats.
you will never get the stats right on point.
but i will give it a quick comparison for you. i simmed a season.
indiana: 10th at 100.6ppg.
portland: 13th at 98.6.
the simmed ppg are calculated via:
game tempo, the players "shot" tendencies and the teams overall offensive talent. [portland 84 offense, indiana 72 offense.]
so even though indiana are a faster paced team than portland. [i have them at 80 game tempo, portland 55.] other than granger they have no other scorers. where portland have roy and aldridge, and a deeper better supporting cast than indiana.

again. this isnt something ive looked into or am concerned about. as its not something you can really control with any degree of consistency.

okay, drive pass tendency, flashy passes etc. these tendencies do not contribute to simmed stats at all. the only tendencies that signficantly contribute to simmed stats are shot, 3pt, and commit fouls.
here are some numbers that may help you.
passing attribute:
paul: 99.
d.collison 64.
west: 45
wright: 44
d.brown: 40.
stoya: 36.
posey: 32.
okafor: 25.

shot tendency. my scale maxes at 91 [kobe].
paul: 76.
west: 79
okafor 58.
posey: 41
wright: 58.
stoya: 63.
d.brown: 57.
mo pete: 58.

hornets game tempo: 70.

i just simmed a season and these are pauls numbers.
22.2ppg, 5.0rpg,, 10.6apg, 2.9spg.

Thanks for the invested time and the helpful answers ! ...

one last favor (hopefully, but at least for now): could you post just the tempo of all teams, since it seems I have another scale cus NO is at aprox 45 and averaging 98-99 ppg ... If I am not wrong, they were one of the teams with low pace ... so how is the flow of NO offense on court (not simmed) ...

Going into coachs profile and adjusting the team tempo slider has the most impact on simuated stats. Just go to teams you are concerned about and lower or increase the tempo. I have not noticed a any difference in game play by doing this but it really helps simulated stats across the board.

I increased all tempo's to at least 80....This increases bench scoring and rebounds for all players. Really helps guard rebounds and bench scoring.

Nogster,

I was wondering if there was ANY way you could post the "Coach profile edits" for each team...I can suffice with 2K's rosters, but I'd really love to see what things you tweaked for specific teams. ( i know you've been playin around with the run-play slider and whatnot )

Much thanks!!
