Christain Laettner was an all-time great COLLEGE player. Although points are not the only factor used to determine a players impact, they are a good indicator. A 12.8 career average doesn't even make the top 250. You may be right about the top 360 but anything about your 280 mark is pushing it.

Basketball-reference.com has him ranked with a 427th with a .001 odds to make the hall of fame.

Your argument would be better served to say that 1) he is probably a top 12 all-time timberwolf and 2) given the current rosters he has Minny needs another big and he would the most likely candidate behind KG, Love (who has already passed him rebounds, btw) and Jefferson.

You are basing it off of Hall of Fame probability. Which, as everyone knows, is flawed in more ways than one.

First, if it was truly Hall of Fame probability, he would be 100% because with all the college-only stars in the Hall of Fame, a top 5 college player in the modern era would be a lock. It's a basketball HOF, not a NBA HOF.

Second, this is the same Hall of Fame with K.C. Jones in the HOF, but not Artis Gilmore? That's just laughable.

On that same site, his ELO/Fan rating is #237. His 13 year CAREER PER is just under 17. That is a very solid player. There is something to be said with consistency for a long time instead of just flashes of brilliance here and there. His counting numbers went down later in his career only because he was playing less minutes. He was still efficient off the bench.

All I'm saying is a truly All-Time Great Roster would include Laettner. Does this roster ever get down to him? Who knows, he's not a major priority. Would much rather have all the guys listed above him on the roster first. I'm perfectly separating Laettner the college player from Laettner the NBA player.

Wow!

Very cool, Durty...

I'd also appreciate any representation of 70's / Buffalo Braves / ABA / Classic Harlem Globetrotters roster additions...

I wish I knew how to handle this kind of project, but it seems best left in the hands of those who grew up with today's technology, not those of us who actually saw these old skool players back in the day...

I wasn't arguing whether his or isn't a hall-of-famer just pointing out that what the site said, and I'm sure that was based off his pro stats, I know how the "Basketball" HOF operates.

The title of the thread is all-time greats, not all-time real soild guys.

Also PER ratings rank up there with the HOF in doing a lot of things that don't make sense. Brad Miller, Okur both have a higher PER than Laettner, so those rankings need to be taken with an entire shaker of salt.

The OP can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe his attempting to create all time rosters by franchise, not just a roster that has the best 360(or whatever number) players. FOr example out of the Celtics could easily have more than 12 guys on their team but its about the BEST 12 CELTICS.

If that is the case then like I said before, Laettner is a top 12 Minnesota Timberwolves player. But not an "All-time Great" in terms of the history of the league.

Then we better go ahead and make this a 6 or so team league. Any more than that and guys like Shawn Marion, Larry Nance and George McGinnis, three really good players I would never label as "all-time greats," would make the roster.

Pretty simple math. 360 spots + competitive teams = any top 400 NBA player would theoretically have a shot making the roster. Laettner and Donyell Marshall are well above that sort of cut off.

Back to the rosters, how do you make a lot of CAPs? Just create a ton of players or is there a limit? I'd like to work on them but I need the latest file so I know which players still need made.

Are you still working on this roster set? If so when is the possible release date?
