Playbooks: Do positions matter when running a play?

With playbooks, how much does the position the play is run for matter?

For example, lets say there is play showing that it goes to the PF for a 3 point shot. Could that play work out the same except it goes to the C as he gets the play run to him for the 3 point shot? (No I'm not saying put the center at PF). If you had play type set for the Center at 3 point and didn't have that set under your PF would it work so that the PF drawn up play goes to the center instead?

Thank for any suggestions/clear explanation of how to make this happen. I see plays run for a PG and wish it was for the SF, or plays drawn up for the SG/SF going to the PG instead (after all PG's are doing so much scoring these days and in NBA2k13 most PG plays just involve pic and rolls.
