Same here, when i usually play association/season mode, i make sure that if a trade goes down in real life, i would make the same exact trades in the game and re-order the starting unit/depth charts before i face the cpu according to the real world.

I knew 2K Sports would allow us to control all 30 teams in association/season mode since they had it in MLB2K9 (it came out a few months after NBA2K9), and if there's any correlation, i believe the Menu Songs will be randomize when we start the game (this happened in MLB2K9 too) and also you were able to play as the Triple-A teams in the Baseball Association mode so this may indicate that we are able to play as the D-League teams in Association/Season Mode in NBA2K10.

What separates those 2 games from all the others, IYO?

The offensive moves were very limited back then... maybe that's why the balance was there. But in essence I agree, the offense has been given love for way too long.

They implemented the shading mechanic last year and while it works well, it didn't interact with the dribble moves, just basic dribbling. Not how I would have liked to see it implemented but there is always this year.

Not always. Sometimes it was who was on the team first. For example w/ Billups, I had to trade Billups and then cut every PG that was rated lower than him and on the team first. Then I would resign each PG. That was the only way to get Billups to start.

There was also an issue with the Spurs. Matt Bonner started at PF all last year but the CPU would start Kurt Thomas over him because Thomas was rated higher.

Yes but you can't deny that this time they use a proper context (real life draft instead of some odd street tournament). It add more authenticity to the game for those who were asking for some RPG features in basketball game.

Ahem.. You mean it will be ever easier to skitter around and go behind your back 3 times from the perimeter to the paint? Haha, just sayin... not really looking forward to "easier" isomotion controls when anyone can break anyone off in 2 seconds flat in 2K9. Hope those defensive improvements contain this a bit... they had ball denial in Team-Up and it rarely worked... hopefully they improved that.

Excited about My Player and Association improvements. I'm always skeptical about 2K's online "improvements" considering the scrapping lobbies and all the other disasters (TEAM UP, network errors ruining league games, framerate/camera issues, lag, etc.) they've had over the past 3 years in re: online. I hope some improvements come to the league sites as well -- they were a buggy mess for the most part, though Tris was always quick to make fixes when the game first released.

"Select how you want to contest shots"... wonder if this is a menu thing or a real-time thing (i.e. tap button, hold button, RT + button). either way, if I can actually contest without leaving my feet and getting burned, that will do wonders for the defense. No more "sim" people just pumpfaking and waiting for a jump... hated that.
