can you defeat the computer?

man, i'm probably like 3-20 against the cpu. it's not even fun playing against the cpu. i actually believe this is not even just a problem with 2k, but with most sports games, where the AI is really 'no mistake' driven, and it seems as if everything the cpu does is scripted and its very very hard to interrupt it. the cpu makes passes that my player should be able to jump in front of and swat, but instead my players act like the ball is no where near them.

is it just that your cpu controlled teammates AI is dumbed down while the opposite team AI is beefed up on higher difficulties? and what is it with the cpu defense? i feel like i can't drive to the hoop at all. I'm running into brick walls way too often and cant shake em loose. the dribble stick seems clumsy and like there was no effort put into using it because of isomotion. and isomotion just seems clumsy and inconsistent. what do i have to do? maybe its just that i suck being this is only my second 2k game...but jeez...my little 14 year cousin just spins around with lebron james and drives to the hole easily...i cant do crap with lebron

Lower the difficulty. Adjust sliders. Problem solved.

Personally, I'm able to out-execute the CPU easily. I've played this series for many years though, so I'm used to it. We had a thread here of guys who cannot lose against the CPU, so it's not like the CPU is terribly difficult.

More practice will help you out, along with lowering the difficulty. You're not less of a man if you play on pro.

I co Sign what Kully said, specially the last part. It took me a couple of months when I first made the switch from Live a few yrs back to get acclimated to the 2K series. The computer AI was giving me a tough time at first, but I was able to get a feel for the game and was able to win more than my fair share after that.

Also, don't be afraid to drop down a level in difficulty like Kull said. I actually play on Pro w/ higher slider settings b/c I feel like the game plays more true to life this way.

Either way, good luck to you and your improvement.

I like how 2K10 is a bit tough at times. I'm currently 9-3 in my association.
